Led by Xaviere Roudeix, the CWI research team is an integral part of the CWI investment strategy.  Through the unique relationship with C&W, our research team has the ability to leverage the wide-ranging skills of the C&W Research Group (150 researchers, 75 of whom are based in Europe).

The timely and detailed quantitative and qualitative information provided by C&W combined with its on-the-ground market expertise helps to get “beyond the numbers”. This allows us to provide a comprehensive, powerful and forward looking review of the health and direction of the European Real Estate sector,  throughout the whole property experience.

CWI uses C&W forecasts as a tool to aid the thinking on probable market developments. To create portfolio strategies, forecasts of average and prime market conditions must be allied to a deep understanding of market risk and stability. The market analysis available to CWI is therefore combined with macro-economic and structural analysis to deliver short and medium-term views of the market. Through modelling and qualitative analysis, this market view is then used to develop a view for portfolio composition to meet a client’s specific needs for performance, whilst also taking into account their appetite for risk and their requirement for income and liquidity.

External resources

CWI also utilises a wide range of external sources which include property and economic data reports, demographics inputs (CACI), consumer trends surveys (Verdict, Mintel and PMRS), news and credit ratings. Equally, any externally acquired forecast services such as PMA’s are used either as a proxy for market forecasts (where an independent view is required) or as a market view for our purposes, to compare with internal forecasts to highlight possible areas of opportunity.
